HOOKED

Fiction for the Snapchat Generation

Rules

Hooked is about reading and writing fun stories with your friends. Our goal in sharing these simple rules is to help create a place where that can happen, while making Hooked safe and enjoyable.

What to do

Be good and have fun

Reading and writing stories with your friends is fun; and doing it on Hooked should be fun. Share what’s happened in your life! Create epic fantasies! Crack jokes! Post pics! The most important thing you should do on Hooked is have fun...but remember that you’re doing it in public! That’s where the "be good" part comes in—we are big fans of the Golden Rule, so keep that in mind when you’re creating a story in Hooked.

What not to do

Don’t abuse, threaten or bully people

Don't post threats of violence against others or promote violence against others. Don't engage in targeted abuse or harassment, such as creating an account whose sole purpose is to post abusive messages. Basically, any content that delivers or encourages physical or psychological harm to another person is not allowed. We love spirited discussion, and understand that the line between that and malicious intent is difficult to draw. But if we feel that your intention is to harass another person, we may take action on your account.

Don’t post hate speech

Hate speech has no place on Hooked. Don't post hateful messages, create hateful stories, use hateful language in your bio or use a hateful image as your avatar. We will remove it, and will most likely terminate your account. Hate speech includes content that directly attacks people based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, sex, gender, gender identity or serious disabilities or diseases.

Don’t post porn

There’s enough porn in the world. Trust us. So don't share it on Hooked.

Don't publish people’s private information without their permission

You wouldn't want to be doxxed, don’t doxx others.

Don't impersonate people

We love and appreciate parody. Some of our best friends are parodies of themselves. But don't impersonate others in a manner that misleads, confuses, or deceives others. If you're creating a parody account on Hooked, your account username should include words like "not" or "fake" or "fan” and your avatar should not be the exact trademark or logo of the subject of your parody. We reserve the right to reclaim usernames on behalf of businesses or individuals that hold legal claim on those usernames. We don’t want people to be confused about who is who.

Don't squat usernames

Imagine trying to sign up for a new thing and finding that your username is squatted on. So sad. Accounts that are inactive for more than six months may be removed without notice.
